Job Description
We are seeking a highly technical and proactive Project Manager to own the end-to-end delivery of our client’s AI HR platform. You will be the central hub between the founders, product stakeholders, and the engineering/design teams. Your mandate is to translate a bold vision into a structured, agile plan and drive the team to hit critical milestones for a successful MVP launch and beyond. You must thrive in zero-to-one environments and be adept at managing the uncertainties of building a complex, AI-driven product.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Architecture & Planning: Develop and own the comprehensive project plan, from initial scoping through to launch, defining timelines, resources, dependencies, and milestones for this greenfield project.
- Agile Process Management: Implement and manage agile development processes (Scrum/Kanban), facilitating daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and demos for a distributed team.
- Technical Leadership & Communication: Serve as the critical link between technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex AI and software development concepts into clear, actionable insights for the leadership team.
- Risk & Dependency Management: Proactively identify technical and project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and manage cross-functional dependencies to keep the project on track.
- Quality & Delivery Accountability: Ensure the on-time delivery of high-quality software releases by tracking progress, managing the backlog, and removing any impediments for the engineering team.
- Tooling & Infrastructure: Establish and manage the project management and collaboration toolkit (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Slack, Notion) for optimal remote team efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Project Manager or Scrum Master, with a proven track record of leading SaaS or software products from conception to launch.
- Direct, hands-on experience managing projects involving AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science components. You understand the unique challenges and iterative nature of AI development.
- Deep proficiency with Agile methodologies and modern project management tools (Jira, Asana, etc.).
- Strong technical background sufficient to understand system architecture, API integrations, and discuss technical trade-offs with engineers.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with experience managing fully remote, global teams.
- A builder’s mindset: you are proactive, thrive in ambiguity, and are energized by creating structure from scratch.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have):
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.
- Experience in the HR Tech (Human Resources Technology) domain.
- Early-stage startup experience.
